One-to-one: Emotional Therapy
When you do not express your emotions, your being is consciously and unconsciously repressed causing trauma. When we are young, we are often taught that we must be strong and not let anything affect us. In such a way that, for example, crying becomes a sign of weakness.
The ease to generate traumas when the emotion is not mature enough is very high so that when we reach adulthood we have not been able to generate resources to overcome these traumas that affect all areas in our life.
Emotional therapy helps you to recognize, accept, express, and manage your emotions to transform negative experiences into positive improvements with the environment (relationships, family, work, etc.). It will help you to cope day to day with overwhelming situations by breaking them down into smaller pieces, affronting them and optimizing your own potential.
What I do?
I will support and assist you, in a non-judgmental way, to explore deeply your feelings, beliefs and thoughts to find the origin of your issue or trauma in a comfortable and protected environment.
Sessions are structured, we will agree on specific difficulties and set goals for you to work towards rather than talk freely about your life. You will come to a broader understanding of the challenges you face on a daily basis. Often we look to your past experiences to see how these might be impacting you in the present, however, this is not going to be always the case.
This is collaborative therapy: We work together to find ways of managing your current difficulties but I will not tell you what to do. You will take your own decisions and you will be responsible for them.
